Welcome to my site!
Hi, I'm Crystal Adams. I am a user experience researcher and program evaluator passionate about translating research into action. I have over 15 years of experience conducting research on and with health professionals, consumers, patients, and communities to create and evaluate health interventions, improve health outcomes, and shape policy. I have worked in diverse communities in and out of the United States context to address health inequities, but my skill set is adaptable to non-health products and services. I have led many projects that informed the design of community-based programs. My current role is Manager of Program Evaluation at Community Care Cooperative, an Accountable Care Organization in Boston, MA. This site includes information about me and my work. My Story
I am a UX and mixed-methods health researcher passionate about solving real-world problems in the health space. After my Ph.D. education in Sociology at Brown University, I went on to pursue a Master of Public Health at Harvard University. I have extensive experience in conducting user interviews, usability studies, surveys, ethnographies, and focus groups. I have conducted applied research on topics such physicians' experiences with delivering social health interventions, in-home care, interventions geared to populations in need, drug advertising, and quality of care in assisted living facilities. The outcomes of these projects have included improvements in the organization of health care delivery in impoverished communities, drug advertising policy recommendations, and the decline in social isolation in communities for older adults. My research experience in media studies and advertising has allowed me to better understand and connect with the users and consumers of products.
I work best in diverse and cross-functional work environments. I have worked on many community-based research projects involving public health practitioners, health professionals, government officials, community organizations, laypeople, and academics from a variety of disciplines. Diversity is important to me, and I thrive in environments characterized by racial, ethnic, LGBTQ+, age, and disciplinary heterogeneity.
